In what some consider a leftist “dog-whistle” description of country music fans, CNN Senior White House Correspondent Jeff Zeleny made a point in an interview Monday after the Las Vegas shooting, that many country music fans are “likely” supporters of President Donald Trump.

Zeleny’s strange commentary came shortly after President Trump made his remarks and offered his condolences to the victims and their families following the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

In his analysis of the Trump speech, Zeleny said that the speech was “pitch perfect” but added that people should “keep in mind” that many country music fans are Trump supporters.  The inference perhaps, was that he sincere emotion was actually a speech shaped for his supporters but then the correspondent adds in vague terms that this was for the rest of the nation as well.

"Something else, I think, to keep in mind - a lot of these country music supporters are likely Trump supporters," Zeleny said. "This is something, of course, hitting the tapestry of all Americans, and there are going to be victims from across the country here."

Zeleny did not provide any context or explanation for his assumption that many of the victims supported Trump, so we can’t be certain of the intent of this non-sequitur connecting in almost an accusatory tone that fact, to Trump's remarks.

Seems most in the main stream media industry also made the generalization that country music fans were Trump-supporters and Republicans. CBS executive Hayley Geftman-Gold wrote in a Facebook post that she was not "sympathetic" to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting because "country music fans often are Republican gun-toters."  Covering their own corporate behinds, CBS released a statement hours later saying that Geftman-Gold was fired for her remarks.

Be that as it may, it would seem that there is a strange paradox for liberals both in politics and the media.  Some seem almost delighted that the mad-man millionaire Stephen Paddock chose to open fire on “country music fans” who are likely Trump supporters” and yet are forced by circumstance to strike a “sympathetic” tone for victims which opens the door for their bemoaning and of the constitutionally protected, second amendment rights which of course leads to a call for gun control for the “good” of America and their disgust and outright hatred of what one reporter described as the pernicious “gun lobby” which the Democrats insist runs the country.

The left just can’t seem to bring themselves to even one honest moment of heartbroken unabridged sympathy for the victims and their families.
